DEMAND has ambitious plans to grow our digital presence, so we are looking for someone with a strong digital marketing/fundraising/communications background to take on this challenge at an exciting time for the charity.
As Digital Engagement Officer, you will actively develop and implement DEMAND’S digital strategy, with oversight from the leadership team. You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering new social media campaigns to grow our audience and take them on a rewarding journey of increasing engagement to become long term friends, supporters and donors.

Salary: £25,000 to £35,000 full time
Contract: Permanent, part / full-time
Reports to: Head of Marketing & Creative Operations
Location: Abbots Langley (flexible / home working available)
Personal skills and experience
Fundraising & marketing
- Proven experience using digital marketing to drive audience growth, engagement and value
- Experience of evaluating and editing marketing copy and creative/design work
- Experience of monitoring, analysing and interpreting data to inform strategy and operational decision making
- Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance targets
Communication
- At ease communicating face to face, by phone, email or in writing. Diplomatic.
- Understanding of how language drives action and how to structure supporter communication to drive action
- Ability to work effectively with non-marketers
- Good understanding of common office software and communications platforms (e.g. email, MS Office, Slack/Teams, Zoom etc.)
- Able to produce precise and accurate reports, both verbal and written
Project management
- Experience of managing internal resources, volunteers, external agencies and contractors to time and financial budgets
- Experience of formal methods of time/project management (e.g. Gantt, Kanban)
Administration
- Ability to prioritise and efficiently organise own area of work
- Ability to work to finite timelines
- Good at keeping accurate and detailed records
Finance & Budgeting
- Numerate with enthusiasm for analysis driven action
- Proficient spreadsheet user
- Experience of forecasting and working to, and developing budgets
Personal
- Genuine interest in direct marketing and fundraising (with an emphasis on online fundraising)
- Support for and belief in the aims of DEMAND
- Lots of flexibility, initiative, self-motivation, and energy to get the job done
- Strong commitment to teamwork
- Ability to keep calm under pressure
- Able to work effectively alone and as part of a team
- Enjoy learning and keeping updated with best-practice and industry developments
- Enjoy being an inclusive and active team member which includes but is not limited to actively contributing to charity strategy development and projects; coordinating the integration of digital activity across the charity, and participating in wider tasks as directed.
